Devotion: Psalm 106:7-15
Due to our earthly circumstances; many times, we find ourselves in captivity. God still provides and takes care of us, while we wander around in the same place, becoming content to stay there. The Israelites were in the desert for four hundred and seventy years. Because of their miraculous deliverance, one would hope they would have no desire to be back in captivity.
How could they forget watching their enemies, as they were covered by the waters? They had “believed His words and sung His praise, but soon forgot his works and did not wait for His counsel.” These chosen ones grew weary of the manna and began begging for meat. The Bible tells us, God “gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.”
I don’t know about you dear reader, but I do not want leanness sent into my soul. If you find yourself in the desert of “Christian Camp Training”; ask the Lord to help you learn well, the lessons He is teaching your soul.
While you may find yourself in the desert, hear and obey the voice of the Lord your God. Receive the training, straight from His heart, ordained for the good of your soul. Do not reject His harsh discipline. He is preparing you for your next assignment.
