Till Christ Returns

Devotion: 2 Corinthians 5:10, Romans 14:10-12

What will you be doing when Christ returns?   As believers, we should long to glorify God on earth, as He is glorified in heaven.  What are we doing with the life God has given us?   Daniel Webster once said, “The greatest thought that has ever entered my  mind; is that one day I will have to stand before a holy God and give an account of my life.”  God help us to live out our days; with that thought, in the forefront of our minds. Should we choose to make this our first thought of the day; we will live more intentionally and purposefully, for the cause of Christ.

If your life is pretty much the same as it was five years ago; you need to examine your heart.  Just being convicted or broken but not coming to repentance, is a sin before our holy God.   James 1:22 tells us to “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves.”  Corinthians 7:10 says, “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.”  Change can be difficult; but if you are yielded to God’s Holy Spirit, you cannot remain the same.

Life with Christ should be a daily adventure with Him. Will you go where He sends you or stay where He wants you to stay?  Search the scriptures.  Talk to your Father God. Don’t be satisfied with nominal Christianity.   Get out of your comfort zone and go into the world, with the message He has laid on your heart.

In Motion:

Ask the Lord today, “Lord, what shall I do with this day, that You have ordained for me?”
