Upside Down

Devotion: Psalm 34:17-19

There are times when our lives begin to spin out of control. Suddenly, everything we hold dear and know to be right and good; is turned upside down.  It’s hard to live right; in an upside down world.  Only Jesus can give you the strength and courage to respond in a godly fashion to the woes of life.

Our Lord promised we would have tribulation in this world.  He told us, “Do not be afraid, for I have overcome the world.”  Our Shepherd will lead us to stand against the gravity of what everyone else considers to be “normal”.  You were created to be righteous, not self righteous, but live in a fashion that proclaims the Name of Christ our Lord.

People are always looking for someone to blame.  I have joked that on my headstone would be the words, “It was her fault.” That’s my own self condemnation. We live in a world that’s always ready to cast blame. Jesus stands ready to speak truth to you in love.

When all the blood is rushing to your head; in your upside down position, our Lord stands ready to turn you rightside up.  If you will allow Him, He will change your view and your whole perspective.  He will give you “beauty for ashes and strength for fear, gladness for mourning and peace for despair.”  Cry out to Him and as any good shepherd would do; He will come to rescue you.  He will pick you up and hold you close to His heart; restoring you to an upright position.

In Motion:

If you have been turned upside down; cry out to your Shepherd, who will come running to restore you to your upright position.
