The Presence of Jesus

Devotion:  Luke 1:39-44

Many years ago; I was sitting in a large gathering, praying with three other women.  All of a sudden, I had a vision of Jesus, hands stretched out toward  me.  I was so filled with His presence; that I cannot begin to describe the love, joy and peace that flooded my soul.  It was and is so dear to my heart.

Mary had gone to visit her cousin Elizabeth and when Mary greeted her, baby John leaped in her womb.  Elizabeth was instantly filled with the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit of God spoke through her; these words to Mary, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!”

John, the one who would be the “voice crying in the wilderness, Make straight the path for the Lord, sensed the presence of The Word made flesh, and leaped for joy, even in Elizabeth’s womb.  Who can comprehend the powerful presence of our Lord and Savior?  He is always with us.

The Bible says, “Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you.”  He loves revealing His power and glory, to those He created to have fellowship with Him.  I will never get over the fact that He created us for His good pleasure.  We are to glorify Him on earth as He is glorified in heaven.

Elizabeth’s closing words to Mary were; “Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”  You and I are living proof there was and is a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord. He saved us from our sins and has promised us eternal life in heaven with Him.

In Motion:

Rejoice today that you always have the powerful presence of your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
