Entrusted with the Gospel

Standard

Devotion:  Galatians 2:7-9

1 Corinthians 1:18 tells us, “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

The God who called us to go and tell the good news of the gospel; has entrusted you and me with His powerful message. The great commission of Jesus Christ states, “Go therefore and make disciples to all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”

My dear reader, you have been entrusted with the gospel message; to give it out, to your Judea and Samaria.  Who are the people with whom God has entrusted you? Why don’t you make a list right now?  It may be your children, your mom or dad, brother, sister, a friend, a co-worker or a neighbor.  Ask God to open up doors of opportunity and then trust Him to take the words you speak, to begin to draw them to Himself.

Paul was entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised and Peter was entrusted with the gospel to the circumcised.  The same Holy Spirit worked in and through both to deliver God’s salvation message.

While there is life and breath, there is hope. God says in

John 12:32  “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw                        all people to Myself.”

My brother in law, Dr. Dwight Rice said to me one time.  “You can’t blow it, when you are witnessing.”  You are speaking truth in love about the One who wishes for no one to perish without Him.

Go and tell this most wonderful news, with which you have been entrusted!

Prayer in Motion:

Lord Jesus, may I speak the gospel of Jesus Christ, to someone today.  It’s in Your Name I pray.  Amen
