One Gave All

Devotion:  John 3:16

Have you seen a sign or bumper sticker that says, “All gave some. Some gave all.”?   It’s referring to those who died in battle for our nations’ freedom.  It is rare that a man dies for someone. There have been many battles fought and won; in the Name of God and country.  Loss of life is part of fighting any battle.  It’s the ultimate sacrifice, to willingly submit one’s life to the possibility of death.

Christ came; so that we might experience victories in life, as well as the ultimate victory in death.  God gave His only begotten Son,” that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish, but have everlasting life. ” John 3:16  It’s incredible to think that the sinless Son of God; willingly left  heaven’s throne; coming to save a desperately wicked world.  What a passion God has for the people He created for fellowship with Him. Meditate on this truth:  Our God loves with such abandon; He will fill every crevice in our empty, aching souls.

Jesus gave His life to provide for you a clean heart and a steadfast spirit.  He paid the price for your peace that passes all understanding.  Willingly He laid down His life in exchange for yours.  His righteousness for your unrighteousness.  His love is amazing, everlasting, produces hope that does not disappoint. He is the One who gave up His freedom in heaven; so that you can experience abundant life on earth, as well as eternal life in heaven.  He is the One who gave all!

Prayer in Motion:

Lord Jesus; thank You for giving Your all, so that I can live an abundant, fruitful, productive life on earth and when my life is over here, I can come to heaven to live with You!  In Your Precious Name I pray.  Amen
