When Walls Fall Down

Standard

Devotion: 2 Corinthians 1:20

When the wall of Jericho came crashing down; a promise came rushing in.  The city was given to Joshua and the Israelites at the seventh circling of that city.

What are the walls in your life that need to be circled?  We must be careful not to blindly claim promises that do not belong to us. However; all of God’s promises are “yes in Jesus Christ.”

Here is the sweet thing. “The promises God made to HIs servants in the Bible, are transferred to us.  Remember the promise to Joshua in Joshua 1:3?  “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.” The promise was transferred.  The promise God made to Moses passed down to Joshua.  In verse 5b of the same chapter; God promised, “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you.  I will not leave you nor forsake you.”  Precious reader; that promise is yes and amen.  It’s meant for you; child of the Most High God.

There are more than 3,000 scripture promises in God’s Word. Because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross; they all belong to you.  Oh my goodness; how many of the 3,000 have we not circled in prayer?

There’s an old hymn called, “Standing on the Promises of God.” The second verse proclaims:

“Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.”

Here’s the reason God’s promises are yes and amen.  It’s His Word. John 1:1 says:  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Find a promise from God’s Word; that applies to your situation. You may be challenged to believe the depth of it’s truth.  Write it down. Stand on it.  Circle it. Say it aloud. Do not lose view of it, no matter what!  The enemy will try his best to steal it from you. Do not allow him to do so!

Watch and wait patiently on the LORD.  This may be the year that the wall falls down.  Put on your armor and march!

Prayer in Motion:

Lord Jesus, I’m believing You to bring down this wall in my life.  I will pray about it, claiming the promise You give me.  Help me to circle it however many times necessary, until the wall comes tumbling down.  In Jesus Name.  Amen
