Disabled by Doubt

Standard

Devotion:  1 Timothy 2:8

As a group of us sat on top of a mountain in Tibet; I doubted we would ever see our families again.  Our bus had been confiscated by the police in that area.  We sat there wondering if we were about to live out, “Blessed are the persecuted, for they shall see the kingdom of God.”  We began to pray and God divinely intervened on our behalf.

We were truly at the ends of the earth in an area not fond of Christians.  Why did I doubt?  Fear began to creep in.  I thought we would at least be questioned.  Only our bus drivers were questioned.  Faithful is He who called us there; He would bring to pass the purpose for which we had come.  Miracle of all miracles; we were allowed to drive away.  God is so amazing.

You see; we can allow doubt to disable our purpose or we can move forward in faith.  God will always accomplish what concerns us; even though we have to go through trials and testing.  He promises we will come forth as pure gold.

When doubt starts to disable you;

  •     Don’t despair.
  •     Hope in the God of hope.
  •     Cling to His promises.  They are yes and amen.
  •     Rely on the truth of the truth of God’s Word.
  •     Obey God’s calling on your life.

Move forward in hope and faith.  Stand against the schemes of the devil.  He wants to make you doubt that you heard the voice of the Lord.  He is the author of doubt.  Stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf.

Prayer in Motion:

Lord, may I not be disabled by doubt.  I want to believe You for the things I deem impossible.  I trust You to accomplish what concerns me.
