Heavenly Inheritance

Standard

Devotion: Ephesians 1:10b-12

Do you live your Christian life based on your circumstances or based on your inheritance?  I know lots of people who live based upon their income. I have met one person who is independently wealthy. I know a few who live based upon their inheritance.

What would you do with the money; if you inherited a significant amount of money? I would love to hear your answers.  Did you know your answer instantaneously or do you have to ponder that scenario? Some of you would go buy a new house or a new car. Some would pay a debt they have been unable to pay.  Others would give a large portion to a missionary or a good cause.

My dear reader, if we could only fathom the great plans our Father has in store for us.  I believe we would live in faith, hope and trust; of the One who obtained the greatest inheritance we will ever receive.

The Bible tells us, “Our Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills.”  In other words; He is lacking nothing.  Jehovah Jireh has provided beyond all we could ask or think or imagine.  He also promised His own would never go begging for bread.  He is not a God of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

We have not because we ask not or we ask with wrong motives. Jesus promised, “He’s preparing a place for us and if He went to prepare a place for us, when He comes again, He will receive us unto Himself.”  “He’s able to do exceedingly and abundantly beyond what we could ever ask or think of imagine.”

We were made to live courageous.  All of His promises are yes and amen.  Let’s live our spiritual lives based upon the inheritance our Heavenly Father has promised.

Prayer in Motion:

Jesus, thank You for my heavenly inheritance.  It is sure and secured through Your shed blood.  I need not fear nor be afraid because no one can snatch it out of Your hand.  I trust You Jesus.  It’s in Your Name I pray.  Amen
