Whoever Calls

Devotion:  Acts 2:17-21

How long oh Lord?  I prayed.  How long?  We see despicable, self-destructive sin;flamboyantly practiced, in the lives of those around us. We watch as neighbors, friends, co-workers and even family members turn away from the Lord.  They are going as fast as they can; sprinting toward the ways of the world.  It hurts our hearts to know people who are lost and undone without Christ the Lord.

Today’s prophetic verses speak a message of hope to the lost and to those who are praying for the lost. “It shall come to pass”…..

“Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

For whom are you praying.  To whom are you speaking the gospel message?  You say; but I have spoken to them; over and over and over again.  They do not have ears to hear.  Here’s the thing.  You are not God and you do not know the day of their salvation.

We are responsible to share this GIFT given to us by the LORD Himself.  Maybe it will be tomorrow, next week or even next year. It may take years for your neighbor, friend, co-worker, family member to repent and turn from their sins, and ask Jesus to be their Savior.  I will re-iterate this scripture.  At the right time…

“Whoever calls on the Name of the LORD shall be saved.”

Cry out to Jesus; on behalf of this one for whom Christ died.  Place their name(s) in the place of the whoever.  When _______________ “calls on the Name of the LORD, he/she shall be saved.”  God’s Word is more powerful than any two edged sword.  Watch and pray with great hope, great expectations that the Lord will bring your “whoever” to His great Salvation.

Prayer in Motion:

Oh God, I cry out to You on behalf of______________.  May I be bold and courageous to speak truth to them.  May I pray fervent, effectual prayers that avail much on their behalf.   As I lift You up Lord; and magnify Your Name; I pray You will draw ____________ to Yourself.  In Jesus Name.  Amen
