The Depth of Hard

Devotion:  Genesis 18:14

Many of you are going through “hard stuff.”  Only God knows the depth of your hard.  It’s hard to watch loved ones suffer.  It’s hard to lose your job.  It’s hard to lose a husband or wife to death or divorce.

Oh how you wish the Lord would deliver you from the hard.  He certainly could.  He’s the God of the impossible.

Just remember this verse. “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” He can deliver but will He?  His promise is to never “leave you nor forsake you.”  NEVER!  The One who walks with you through the valley of the shadow of death; will keep you in perfect peace, when your mind is stayed upon Him.

When your heart and flesh cry out to the Spirit of the Living God; the winds and the waves obey His will.  Right there in the midst of the storm, you realize it is Jesus who is saying; “Peace be still.”  He calms His child, while the waves are crashing and the wind is howling.  “God is not a God of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

It is tempting to take your eyes off of Jesus especially when the storm has been long and arduous.  Our minds and hearts scream; “Focus on the fierce storm raging all around you”.  Your enemy would love for that to happen.  Do not give in to his wooing.  Remember, God is near to all who call upon Him.

The Lord goes deep with His children. His hand reaches out to seek and to save that which is lost. He comes to rescue the perishing, care for the dying.  Jesus is merciful…Jesus will save..

Prayer in Motion:

Lord God, You are famous for coming to rescue us from the depth of hard.  You went to hell for us and brought back the keys of death.  My depth of hard does not compare to what You did for me.  Thank You for being my Savior and Redeemer.  In Jesus Name.  Amen
