Before and After

Standard

Devotion:  2 Corinthians 5:17

I love before and after pictures, as well as the stories that go along with them.  Whether it’s a person or a place; there’s always a change for the better.

                        There’s a wow factor involved.

For a person; it may be the clothes or the hair style and make up that creates a dramatic difference in one’s appearance.  The appearance of a house can be drastically changed by the touch of a carpenter  a painter or an interior decorator.  Many years ago; I heard a preacher say, “Any old house looks better with a little paint put on it.”

How did you look before you were saved?

Were you negative and full of anger and resentment?  Were you always nit picking and looking for the worst in people?  There should be a stark contrast in your life after Christ; versus your life before Christ.

Do you give people a reason for the hope that lies within you? Do you speak God’s truth in love? People should notice a remarkable difference in your life before Christ and your life after salvation.  You should not be the same “mean  and difficult” person you were before.

The Architect and Builder of you is Creator God.  He created you with and on purpose; to have fellowship with Him and those He has given you.  Inward beauty is revealed through your countenance.  Christ in you should shine brightly in a very dark world.

Everything changes when Jesus comes into a person’s heart. Your heart becomes full of joy and hope that will not disappoint. These attributes make a huge difference when trials and tribulations come.  You can “stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.”  He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Prayer in Motion:

Lord Jesus, I want people to see You, the hope of glory in me. Please keep my eyes focused on those who need Jesus.  May I give out Your gospel message to those who are perishing so they will have a before and after story.
