No Other Way

Devotion:  Ephesians 2:8-9

                                There is no other way!

It’s heart breaking to think of all the people who believe they are going to heaven because they haven’t murdered anyone or stolen anything or done anything that might send them to an eternity in hell.

We all need a Savior.  There must be a point in time where we confess that we have sinned and acknowledge there is no other way in heaven or earth by which men may be saved or kept.

                                      A point in time.

No one is automatically “in” unless it’s a child that dies before the age of accountability, or a person who was born without the mentality to make the choice.

                                        It is a choice.

Have you ever had a bad thought?  That’s a sin.  Have you ever said a bad word?  That’s a sin.  Ever shared gossip with another willing listener?  That’s a sin against God and the person who you talked about.  The Bible declares “We all sin and fall short of the glory of God.”  It is appointed unto man once to die and after that comes the judgement.  Oh no, the “J” word. So many have been turned off by “the church” because they felt judged by…

                          the church of Jesus Christ.

The church is made up of sinners.  Yes!  All of us are sinners.   Christians are just sinners saved by grace.  One day in their lives; each one acknowledged that they were sinners and invited Jesus into their lives. There is no perfect church because it’s full of sinners.  It’s a hospital, a respite, a place to come and hear the gospel preached and taught, a place for opportunity to serve.

There is salvation in no other than the Lord Jesus Christ.  If you confess your sins; He is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and to cleanse you of all unrighteousness.  He removes it from us as far as the east is from the west and remembers it no more.  NO MORE!

Jesus tells us: “Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together as is the habit of some.”  The Lord Jesus knows we are not strong enough to do Christian life alone.  We need other Christians for the purpose of accountability and support.  These people become your family.  They will stick by you through thick and thin.  They will help you as you go through life with all its trials and tribulations.  You will have disagreements.  Every family does.

The church’s purpose is to be a vital part of your                                Christian growth and service.

No church is perfect.  Here’s the thing.  The church was God’s idea.  We are the bride of Christ.  He gave His life for the church. He became a ransom for it.  Find a place where you can serve and be served.  Every church is different.  This one thing I know. I promise; God has a church for you.

Prayer in Motion:

Oh God, may I know You in a real and personal way.  May I obey all that You say do.  May I be strong in You and in the strength of Your might.  I believe what You say to be true.  All of it.  Every word in the Holy Scriptures.  Thank You for drawing all men to Yourself and for creating the church for your children.  In Jesus Name. Amen.
