Up From the Grave

Standard

Devotion:  Matthew 20:18-19

On this Easter Sunday; the phrase, “and on the third day” becomes epic for the lives of Christians all over this world. Hallelujah!  Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed.

Sing a verse from this old hymn.  Sing it loudly!

“Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph or’ His foes. He arose a victor from the dark domain and He lives forever with His saints to reign.  He arose.  He arose.  Hallelujah Christ arose.”

Don’t you wonder what took place in the kingdom, while Jesus’ physical body was in the grave?  We know for certain; He went to collect the keys of death and Hades from the lower parts of the earth.  He took back what Satan had tried to steal from believers in Christ.  Jesus overcame death, hell and the grave. Oh what a Savior!

The Light of the World stepped out into darkness, when He came to save this old world.  Perfect, sinless Jesus went to the lower parts of the earth to accomplish “abundant, eternal life” for His children.  Everlasting life with our God was at stake. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.

“He’s alive.  He’s alive.  My sins have been forgiven.  Heaven’s gates have opened wide.”  “I serve a risen Savior.  He’s in the world today. I know that He is living, whatever men may say.”  “What a mighty God we serve.”

The stone began to roll away.  The darkness of the grave could no longer hold in it’s grip, the Light of the World.  Christ’s body; although scared, came out perfectly healed, restored and renewed from the beatings, scourging and piercings He endured. Our Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent God is perfect and complete both now and forever more.  Our God reigns.  He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, ever interceding for you and for me.

Celebrate Resurrection Day as never before.  You Savior lives.

Prayer in Motion:

Oh Lord, what a beautiful way to celebrate Jesus.  How wonderful You are my King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Up from the grave, You arose my wonderful Savior. Thank You for drawing me to Yourself and giving me the gift of eternal life.  IN Jesus Name.  Amen
