As a child, many of you said this lunch time prayer. “God is great. God is good. Let us thank Him for our food. By His hands, we are fed. Give us Lord our daily bread. Amen.” With every word; your parents were training you to list the attributes of God and be thankful.
The Bible says God removes kings and puts kings in place. God Himself was Israel’s leader during their forty years of captivity in Egypt. Watch the progression of God’s plan unfold.
- Israelites were chosen by God to be great during captivity.
- God led them out of their place of captivity.
- He gave them their land as an inheritance.
- He gave them judges and then Samuel the prophet.
- He gave them King Saul.
- He gave them King David, a man after God’s own heart.
- God brought Jesus, a Savior.
With every single step God provided for His people. What had been the worst of times became the best of times. Lack was replaced with abundance. Where insecurity had abounded in the hearts of God’s people; security and hope now grew.
God wanted Israel to know and He wants you to know He is great. He is with you in captivity and He’s with you in freedom. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. He wants you to be great. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will accomplish what concerns you both now and always.
You trust God. Can God trust you; even in your captivity? Where does God see you today? Will He call you great? “Greater is He who is in us; than he who is in the world.”
President Trump’s campaign slogan was “Make America great again.” Although all evil seems to be coming against him; I believe that’s his heart’s desire.
Will you allow God Himself to make you great again? Will you allow Him to be great in and through you? He wants to deliver you from captivity into security. God is great!
Prayer in Motion:
Oh Lord, You alone are great and You alone are good. I trust You to make me great, in order to accomplish Your will on earth as it is in heaven. You are with me in captivity and You alone can lead me to freedom through Jesus Christ. I trust You Lord. In Jesus Name. Amen.
