When God Says No

Standard

Devotion: Isaiah 55:9

You wait with great anticipation as well as expectation; for an answer from heaven.  You are praying with all your soul, all your might and all your strength and yet the door to heaven remains tightly shut.  Not even a crack in the door.

God says He will open doors that no man can shut and will close doors no man can open.  As David cried out to God; “How long oh Lord?”  It feels like forever you’ve been seeking the Lord your God regarding this prayer request.

You are to keep on asking, keep on seeking but when He says no; we must accept it as His final answer.  His yeses mean yes and His ‘nos’ mean no.  God is not like man, flippant in His answers.  He says what He means and He means what He says. That’s exactly the reason we can so whole heartedly trust Him.

Although hard to hear; His “nos” are  just as much for our good and His glory, as are His yeses. Our stubborn will wants things in our time and our way.  We think we know what’s best.  God’s ways are higher than ours and His timing is perfect.

God knows the plans He has for you, to give you a future and a hope.  If you seek Him, He will let you find Him when you search for Him with your whole heart.  You may not understand the no but God will eventually reveal the hidden things to you.  You will live to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

God is with you and loves you with an everlasting love.  No does not mean God is rejecting you.  He will accomplish what concerns you.

Prayer in Motion:

Lord, help me to accept your “nos” as Your will for my life.  You have blessed me with many yeses that I did not deserve.  I love You Lord and I trust You to accomplish what concerns me both now and always.  In Jesus Name.  Amen
