Width, Length, Depth and Height

Devotion:  Ephesians 3:17-19

We live in a dimensional world.  Most everything can be measured by its width, length, depth and height.  Houses, cars, land, even foods can be measured.

The Bible says God is love.  There is no greater love than this, than a man lay down is life for His friends.  You have family and friends for which you might give your life but for a stranger?

We can know the love of Christ but can we really comprehend the width, length, depth and height of His great love for us? Today’s verses says the love of Christ surpasses all knowledge. He loved us while we were yet sinners.  He died for us.  I am totally blown away by that kind of love, sacrificial, undeniable love from a sinless man, who took the penalty for our sin upon a cruel cross.

There is a song that says, “Oh how He loves you and me.  Oh how he loves you and me.  He gave His life, what more could He give?  Oh how He loves you.  Oh how he loves me.  Oh how he loves you and me.  We know who we are.  We know our hearts are desperately wicked, deceitful above all else.  And yet, He loves us still.  He wants us in heaven with Him forever.  He created us for eternity with Him.  You can’t begin to measure eternity.

Follow Jesus for the rest of your days.  Keep Him at the center of your focus.  Do not give the enemy an inch or he will take a mile. Your Savior has gone to prepare a place for you.  Obey Him with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength.

Prayer in Motion:

Lord Jesus, I will follow Your voice.  Wherever You lead, I will go. I need You oh I need You.  I cannot comprehend the width, length, height, depth and breadth of Your great love.  Thank You for pouring it out upon your undeserving servant.  In Jesus Name.  Amen!
