On Hold

Standard

Devotion:  Jeremiah 29:11-14

No one likes to be placed on hold.  I’ve waited as long as twenty minutes for an insurance company party to come back on the line.  It’s frustrating.  Because of speaker phone features, at least you can be hands free, as long as you keep the phone with you.

Since October of 2016; my husband has been “on hold”, waiting for a job.  Yesterday, we realized it was all about trust. He had interviewed for a job on Tuesday and was called back with an offer on Wednesday afternoon.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow.  Thank you to all who prayed for him over the last seven months.

Just as you wait for an operator to come back on the line, God asked us to “wait upon Him.”  He answered in HIs time and when His purpose for placing us “on hold” had been accomplished.  He had to give Ben a few nos in order to give him His best yes.

I don’t know where you are today.  Do you know you are placed “on hold”?  It can be frustrating at times, however, you can know God has a plan.  Maybe he has to get others in a place where they have a need for your services.  Or maybe you are praying diligently for another person and yet you see nothing happening.

Waiting to see the hand of God move on your behalf can take months or even years to see this thing come to pass.  Just remember you get to wait with God and on Him.  He teaches you much about Himself while you wait.  He wants your trust factor to grow deeper in Him at all times.

When you feel as if you are “on hold.”  Just remember: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.”

Prayer in Motion:

Lord, I praise You and worship You this morning!  You always have a plan.  Thank You for your Word from Jeremiah 29:11 that says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  In Jesus Name.  Amen

Hi sweetie, Did you mean to entitle this “On Hold”. You typed Oh hold a couple of times. Also check the last sentence in fifth paragraph last sentence. Should it be”to grow”? Love you, Lee Ann And Praise the Lord for Ben’s job🎉
