If you were to ask the average person on the street their definition of a standout; they would say: “It means highly successful, a leader, a chosen one.” All of those would be correct; however, today we are talking about a standout for Jesus Christ.
Jesus was the Savior of the Word, but had nothing this world deems important. He owned nothing, was humble, not boastful, took no credit for all of His miracles but gave His Heavenly Father all the glory.
I want you to ask yourself a few very important questions. Do I live like I believe what I confess with my mouth? Everyday? All the time? In every situation?
Just a few more. Does the world know you are Christian? Is there any difference in your life and the life of a non believer? Ask the Lord, “Am I truly humble instead of boastful?” The deceiver of your soul wants you to blend in, look like everyone else. The Lord says we are to be “strangers and aliens.” We are called to be different, to be a stand out for Jesus.
Once in a while the disciples of Christ would get into some “intense fellowship” over who would be first in the kingdom. Jesus would admonish them and tell them it was their Heavenly Father’s decision.
You’ve heard the saying, “He’s so heavenly minded he’s of no earthly good.” What a sad thing to say. I disagree. We don’t have to be like a monk who goes and lives in a cave and never shares what God is teaching him. We live in this world but we are not of this world. We had better be a standout for the kingdom of God.
Prayer in Motion:
Lord Jesus, I want to be standout for Your kingdom. May Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I want to be used of You until I draw my last breath. In Jesus Name. Amen
