Struggles Make us Stronger

Standard

Devotion:  Ephesians 6:10-20

Do you ever look at someone and think; “Wow, they’ve got it all together.”  You only see people as they allow you to see them.  Every single one of us has struggles.  According to this passage; our struggle is not against earthly people, even ourselves but against rulers, authorities, powers of darkness, evil and spiritual forces that we cannot see.

How are we to handle forces seen and unseen?  I believe the answer is found in this passage should we choose to believe and apply it to our lives.   If you and I will daily put on the armor of God; we will be able to resist when the evil day comes.

You and I can stand with the truth around our waist, righteousness around our heart, our feet shod with the gospel of peace.  God knows we need peace that surpasses all understanding to guard our hearts and our minds.

He tells us in every situation; “Take up the shield of faith so you can extinguish every fiery dart that tries to assail you.” Your enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy what belongs to you dear one.  You possess the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.   Your enemy cannot have it, unless you offer it to him.  Picture yourself putting on the helmet of salvation.  You know who you are and Whose you are.  You take your stand and see the salvation of the Lord.

Lastly, take the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.  Hide it in your heart, that you might not sin against God.  You are all dressed and ready to pray in the Spirit with every prayer and request.  Stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for the saints.  You are considered a saint, if you have the Lord Jesus in your heart.  With every struggle, God will make you stronger.  Nothing is too hard for Him.

Prayer in Motion:

Lord Jesus,  thank You for making me stronger.  I trust You fully until You come for me.   I desperately need You; moment by moment, hour by hour, week by week, month by month and year by year.  I need You now, more than yesterday.  I need You now, more than words can say.  I always need You Lord.  In Jesus Name, You are making me stronger!
