Today is the Day

Standard

Devotion:  2 Corinthians 6:2

Dr. David Jeremiah says in his book The Great Tribulation; “Every page of the Bible says “today”. Every tic of the clock  seems to cry out “today.”

It is not God’s will that any man should perish without Him.  Pray today, for your unsaved family member(s).  Pray today for your unsaved friends and co-laborers.  Pray today for the peace of Jerusalem.  Now is the acceptable time to cry out to Jesus for all these things.

God’s eyes are always searching for those whose hearts long to be completely His.  Ask Him to search your heart  and show you if there is any wicked way in you.  Then listen for the prompting of His Holy Spirit.  “If we regard iniquity in our hearts, the Lord will not hear our prayers.”   We desperately need Him to hear our prayers for all who need salvation.

“Create in me a clean heart Oh God and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”  There’s a song by Stephen McWhirter entitled “Come Jesus Come.  The first verse is as follows”

“Sometimes I fall  to my knees and pray.  Come Jesus come let today be the day.  Sometimes I feel like I’m gonna break.  But I’m holding on to a hope that won’t fade. We’ve been waiting so long  For the day You return to heal every hurt and right every wrong. We need you right now to come and turn this around. Deep down I know this world isn’t home. Come Jesus come.”

The time is right now.  There’s no need to wait.  Today is the day of salvation.   The world waits to hear the best news ever.  We who hold this great truth near to our hearts, watch and wait expectantly for our Savior’s return.  Today could be the day!

Prayer in Motion:

“Come Jesus come.  We’ve been waiting so long.  It is not Your will that any man should perish without You. Open wide doors of opportunity to give out the truth of Your gospel.  It was Your greatest commission ever.  Make me strong and courageous.
