The Test of Time

Standard

Devotion:  Psalm 100:5

There are many things that are proven over the test of time. Good recipes.  A good company.  Safe vehicles.  But are there any guarantees?  A few life time warranties/guarantees are offered.  I found a few listed on the internet including knives, an umbrella, a ceramic egg grill, a certain type of hunting sock, a weather resistant hat, a few tools and even a brand of outside paint.

Be aware, though, that not all lifetime guarantees are equal. Look for the word “limited” before lifetime warranty, which signals preconditions for qualification. Watch for exceptions that can leach value from the product guarantee, such as required maintenance, mandatory registration, high cost to return, a warranty that degrades over time, and an item with a predetermined, stated lifetime.

The test of time is even more important for marriages; friendships and all family dynamics.  These are the things that really matter and should be included as life-time goals.  However; there are times that even these critical relationships become impossible to carry out.  God says “We are to as far as possible, be at peace with all men.”   If one person refuses to obey what God has ordained; then it becomes impossible for that relationship to stand the test of time, until he or she repents and fights for restoration.

There is one Person only who stands the test of time.  His Name is Jesus Christ.  He has both now and always been the same. His love never fails.  He always tells the truth in love.  He is the only one to whom we may pray for divine intervention.  HE will never leave us nor forsake us.

What or who is your challenge in the test of time?  I pray that you will know God’s faithfulness; as you study His Word and seek His heart.  You be faithful to do your part and watch to see God withstand the test of time.  He always has and He always will.

Prayer in Motion:

Lord, thank You for standing the test of time in my life.  You have remained forever faithful.  I just love You so.  I pray You will teach me to always do my part in any relationship.  In Jesus Name.  Amen
